1. Tommy Douglas Scholarship

Value:  $1,500

Eligibility: Applicants must be planning to attend post secondary institution full-time. The award is open to children of, or foster children of, a member of the National Union of Public and general Employees. Applicants must also write a
750-1000 word essay on “How Tommy Douglas contributed to  making Canada a more just and equitable society”. See the above link for more information and an application.

2. Terry Fox Memorial Scholarship

Value:  $1,500

Eligibility: Open to students with disabilities who plan to attend post secondary  institution full-time. The award is also open to children of, or foster children of, a member of the National Union of Public and general Employees . Applicants must write a 750-1000 word essay on “The  importance of quality public  services in enhancing the quality of life of people with  disabilities.” See the above link for more information and an application.

3. Scholarship for Aboriginal Canadians

Value:  $1,500

Eligibility: Aboriginal Canadians who plan to attend post secondary  institution full-time and who are  children of, or foster children of,  a member of the National Union of Public and general Employees. Applicant must write a 750-1000 word essay on “The  importance of quality public  services in enhancing the quality of life of Aboriginal Canadians.” See the above link for more information and an application.

4. Scholarship for Visible Minorities

Value:  $1,500

Eligibility: Visible minority students who plan to attend post secondary institution full-time and who are children of, or foster children of, a  member of the National Union of Public and general Employees.
