ST.B. AWARDS
Recipients for the following awards are selected by Administration and Staff at St. Boniface Diocesan High School:
School Board Award for General Proficiency (Value: $100, Permanent Trophy)
-
The student with proficiency in all subjects in Grade 12 (not the student with the highest average).

Cannot be given to a student wining the Chown, Governor General Bronze Medal or a University Entrance Scholarship.

A student who has been involved (extra-curricular activities) in general school life.
Catholic Women’s League Award for Leadership (Value: $100, Permanent Trophy)
A student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership during four years of high school.
St. Boniface Diocesan High School Alumni Award for School Involvement
(Value: $100, Permanent Trophy)

A student who displays unselfishness in donating time and energy to various academic, social, administrative and/or athletic committees.

A student who is supportive of school programs.
Member of the Legislative Assembly Student Support Awards
(Value: $200, Permanent Trophy)

A student who has shown a leadership role in one or more school activities ie. Youth Ministry, International Night, Open House, Recruitment, Sound Crew, Eastar, etc.

Unselfishness in giving assistance in class to fellow students

A positive influence on peers.

Has overcome obstacles to be able to attend university or college.

Is registered in a university or college.

Has greatly improved as a student over their four years at St. B.
Knights of Columbus Scholarship Award for Expression of Faith, Hope and Fraternity (Value: $200, Permanent Trophy)
Positive attitude, perseverance and a diplomat in class.
Member of Parliament for St. Boniface Student Leadership Award
(Value: $100, Permanent Trophy)
- Student with outstanding leadership capabilities.
- Best combined academic achievement and involvement in student and community activities.
St. Boniface Diocesan High School Parents’ Guild Award
(Value: $250, Permanent Trophy)
- Positive attitude.
- Contributes to overall school spirit.
- Unselfishness in giving time and energy in our school community.
- Freely shares God-given gifts and talents with others.
Marianist Award (Value: $300, Permanent Trophy)
- Given to a Grade 12 student who has manifested a spirit of openness, service and gentleness in dealing with others.
- A student who has participated in Youth Ministry activities at St. B.
Archbishop Hacault Memorial Award—One Male, One Female
(2 Awards – Value: $250 each, Permanent Trophies)

An individual who has shown acceptance and openness to others.

An individual who has developed his/her God-given gifts and talents to the best of his/her ability (not necessarily a high academic achiever.)

An individual who has shown personal, spiritual, academic and social growth during his/her high school years.

An individual who actively participated in the spiritual/youth and/or social justice ministries of our school.
The National Bank Humanities Award (Value: $100, Permanent Trophy)
Outstanding contribution and/or achievement in the humanities: Drama, Religion, French, English, Geography, and/or History.
Lorna Weselake Memorial Award (Value: $350, Permanent Trophy)

A student who has demonstrated an above-average contribution and/or achievement in the Business and Computer Technology Program.

A student who plans to further his/her education at a university, college or vocational school.
St. Boniface Diocesan High School Staff Award (Value: $100, Permanent Trophy)
- A student who demonstrates a “love of learning” as per out motto. This quality differs from simply studying and/or performing well academically.
- A student who shows a positive interest in St. B as a school and as a school community.
Lifetouch Award (Value: $200, Permanent Trophy)
- A graduating student who has been active in school activities.
- A student who shows outstanding school spirit.
Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (Value: $400, Permanent Trophy)

Awarded to a student who fosters and displays Christian values in the school environment.

A student who demonstrates a strong sense of “school spirit”.

A student who has proven to be a “collaborator” at school and/or at local community functions.
Governor General’s Bronze Medal
Highest academic average in Grade 12.
Chown Centennial Scholarship (Value: $500)
- High school to nominate best all round graduate.
- Can be held with other U of M scholarships.
- Must register for full course load.
- Minimum 85% standing .
St. Paul’s College Alumni and Friends Entrance Scholarship (Value: $1,000)
- Must be entering University of Manitoba in fall.
- Must be enrolled as a member of St. Paul ’s College.
- Must have demonstrated scholastic achievement (ie Honour Roll).
- Must have demonstrate good leadership qualities (ie: through sports, volunteering, student government, community, etc..)
St. Paul’s College Fr. John C. Hanley sj., Memorial Entrance Scholarship
(Value: $700)

Must be entering University of Manitoba in fall.

Must register to take at least one 3 cr. Hour course at St. Paul ’s College (or request a waiver letter from the Dean of Studies).

Must have demonstrated scholastic achievement (ie Honour Roll).

Must have demonstrate good leadership qualities (ie: through sports, volunteering, student government, community, etc.).
